Entertaiment is a broad term for the range of activities that provide amusement, or a sense of enjoyment or pleasure. It can vary from an individual choosing what to watch, read or listen to for personal enjoyment; to the organization of a banquet or other social gathering; to performances intended to accommodate thousands of people. Some entertainments may have a serious purpose, such as ceremonies, religious festivals or satire. Others, such as a work of art or a sports event, may serve to educate, challenge or inspire.
